Wrasslin’: Did anybody watch?

Friday, August 10th, 2007

I’ll admit I didn’t tune into the wrasslin’ debut of Adam Jones last night. Sorry, but actual NFL pre-season football was on and that takes priority (gotta figure out who to put on my fantasy team!)

Anyway, I’m sure that the footage of Jones on there will work its way to YouTube later today or in the coming days…

So, did anyone see Pacman’s debut? Any thoughts?

Pac-Man’s wrasslin’ debut is this evening

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Adam “Pac-Man” Jones will make his debut on TNA (Total Non-stop Action) Wrestling this evening.

The show airs at 8 p.m. local time on Spike TV. (I believe it’s channel 61 on Comcast).

So, will anyone be tuning in out of morbid curiosity?

Or will you, instead, be watching the first televised pre-season NFL game of the year instead?

Or maybe a test pattern that’s airing somewhere else?

PacMan a pro wrestler?!?

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Just when you think this whole Adam “Pacman” Jones saga can’t get any more strange…it does.

TNA Wrestling signed the suspended Titans’ player to a pro-wrestling contract.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, alrighty then….

I did love the line about how the Titans had no problem with this. For some reason, that really amused me.

Fight for our Fangs

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

The Nashville Predators are hosting a Save our Team rally today at the Sommet Center.

Get on out there for food, fun, and fan-slaving. And while you’re out there, don’t be afraid to chain yourself to the team as the proverbial wrecking ball falls in full swing down the center of our crumbling hopes of keeping the Preds in town. I, unfortunately, cannot make it. Although I would have no problem chaining myself to this. Or this.

Saturday sighting

Monday, July 16th, 2007

Titans tickets officially went on sale late last week. People were camping out to get their maximum 4 tickets to 2 games. Guess who got in on the action?

Who else out there got tix?

On another LP Field note, I was down there on Saturday afternoon to take some photos on the Riverfront. I parked at the field way out where people normally tailgate. Because I don’t normally hang out in the parking lot of LP Field on Saturdays, my question is this: do people normally hang out in the parking lot at LP Field on the Saturdays…even when there is no event going on there? I mean, there was a tent, under which a small group was just hanging out. They were sitting in lawn chairs under this tent, drinking beer, and shooting the proverbial bull. There were also several groups of kids, again, hanging out, smoking, skateboarding, talking…not really doing much of anything. And Saturday was HOT! It was hot as fire out there, and most of these people there were just standing out in the sun….not even sitting under the pedestrian bridge in the somewhat-shade. I’ll ask again, is this NORMAL? Is this what people DO on the weekends here? There’s got to be a catch. I just haven’t caught it yet.

Any suggestions as to what this may have been will be greatly appreciated as this scene deeply concerned freaked me out.

Vote for Vince

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

I think this whole SportsCenter “Who’s Now” thing is beyond lame….

(You know there is a “but” coming…)

But, today’s voting is Vince Young against Maria Sharapova. The ESPN panel all picked Sharapova, so for Vince to move on, we need to vote for the guy!

Here’s a link to do it.

Martha Martha Martha…

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

Word on the street is the statute of limitations is now up on Jim Balsillie’s exclusive offer on our Nashville Predators. Locals have been in “save our team” mode ever since this Canadian billionaire offered to buy the team from current owner Craig Leipold in late May.

Get the full story here. Then come back and let’s have some fun.

Ready?

The article dropped several big local names as hopefuls for Predator ownership. Cal Turner…Martha Ingram…Tommy Frist…I even heard an Al Gore in there. So Nashville, who do YOU think should step up and save our team? Hint: I’m not asking for votes on the above-mentioned. Drop some new names on me.

My vote is this: let’s all bid together and take joint ownership of the team. Would we even be allowed to do that? How would ticket sales work if we were all part-owners? Just throwing the hypothetical ball around. Thoughts anyone?
