…all the wrong places
Forbes posted a list of the 40 best cities for young, single professionals. Guess where Nashville ranked.
Um, seriously?
If your’e a single professional here in Nashville, then this ranking should be a huge shock. I mean, 13?? That’s pretty good out of 40! Have these people who made up this list actually TRIED dating in Nashville? My compliments to them if they have and were successful. Unfortunately for me, I happen to love my city, but my city does not love me. I chose to live in and love a city that offers little to no romantic supplement. All signs of love in this city have either migrated here together from more fertile pastures, or are, in my evolved opinion, completely contrived.
I know that sounds bitter (and I’m not actually bitter, despite the tone of this post…), but does anyone else have a better theory? If this is considered a great place for young professionls to meet and greet, then where IS everyone?

I sometimes feel like I did Friday on this. Running late to a meeting and didn’t get the call it had been moved. Went to the place it was origianlly and found it empty.
That’s how I feel about the whole where are singles and professionals meeting in Nashville…like I’m running late and always arrive AFTER they’ve been already left and gone elsewhere…LOL

You’re asking me?! Shoot, I can’t even figure out why people like to hang out at Cabana… which is, by the way, where I think the entire class of 1997 is. Or maybe that’s actually the class of 2007…
Anyway, I haven’t seen any singles my age, so I can’t tell ya. I feel just like Michael Hickerson on this one. Then again, I’m a lot older than the class of 1997 (like 10 years).
I think Chris has the best answer, though. We’re all meeting up on the Internets at MCB.

Last time I was at Cabana I had a charming conversation with a completely trashed 60-something couple. That was the highlight.
